Back in OC
I am now back in Ocean City, MD for the summer.
We went fishing on our pontoon "Mr. Sea" for the first time today.
Beautiful sunshine, temp in upper 80's and little breeze.
Lots of boats on the water, not the best for fishing.
We ended catching 2 throwback flounders, and a bunch of blue crabs, but only one legal size.
We had to head back because of coming storm and showers.
Prediction for tomorrow.... sunshine.... I'll be on the water bathing some minnows

Sounds nice Gerry. Can’t wait to come visit and hopefully fish the 45th annual white marlin open with you on the Longfin. I was conversing with Lance yesterday and he says boat will be ready... should be an epic week!

Re: Back in OC
Monday I fished with a local legend "Big Bird"... Oh what a day.
On the water from 11 am until 5 pm. I learned a lot from him. He is a very friendly person, and he shared many of his tricks.
He was catching fish after fish, in the same places I fished for years. I was right beside him, my rod would fire a few times, while his was always getting hits.
We ended the day catching over 25 stripers, half a dozen flounders, and 15 bluefish. We only kept a few bluefish, all others were released safely.
That was probably one of the best fishing days I ever had. I got a big sunburn, but I surely made a great friend and learned so much... now it's time to practice and get better at fishing.
Looking forward to get tight lines very soon.

Not so lucky today. Fished from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the bay. No bites from fish, but plenty from blue crabs. Also hooked up a 6" sea horse.
All released.
All released.

When I lived down there I used to find seahorses there on the bayside up towards 90th street at low tide after a big storm would roll thru.Gecha (Gerry) wrote:Not so lucky today. Fished from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the bay. No bites from fish, but plenty from blue crabs. Also hooked up a 6" sea horse.

Went solo fishing last evening from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Today, almost no wind, it's a hot one.
I'll be back on the water after work... if wife does not decide we need to go shopping

Fishing last evening was not as productive as the previous evening. Only caught one keeper blue crab, and a sea robin.

Another outing last evening. Nice weather but slow fishing.
Is it me or the fish are getting smaller?

Re: Back in OC
it has been a strange week. Forecast was thunder storms, lightning, heavy rain all week.
Ended up with only one day of rain (Wednesday), must pretty windy all the time. Forecast is still predicting rain all week.... will see how it goes.
I was able to go out last evening for a little cruise.

5 days and counting... see you soon... we should roll in about 6pm Sat. Any word from the Longfin?
That’s a great picture of the amusement park at the inlet.
