OC Oct 1st

Post by Gecha (Gerry) »

Last Sunday turned out beautiful. I bit chilly in the morning with some wind gusts, but in the afternoon, sunshine and calm water.
I grabbed a few rods and steered the boat into the bay.
Flounders were on fire. On every drift, I got bites.

It lasted until the tide changed, then the bites stopped. I caught 12 flounders and 7 sea bass, all released.

I stayed on the water as long as possible, enjoying a great sunset.

What a relaxing time.

As weather is slowly cooling off, maybe a few more outings before putting the boat in storage till next year...

Sounds like a great time. I bet your arms were sore after 12 flatties... Thanks for the report.

Did the croakers ever show up?

For unknown reason, the croakers never showed up. Usually they are plenty by end of July until September.
I hope they show up next year, as it is so much fun catching them... and they're good eating.
