I saw my first (and prob only) VT 200 lber mtn buck

Post by WildFisherWoman »

Was up in the mtns in N VT yday doing field work. Came face to face with a gigantic whopper big racked booner buck  Biggest deer I ever saw. There we stared at 1:30 in the afternoon. Then.. like a ghost.. he was gone. It will be another 10 years before I ever see another I fear in this state. I cant say where I saw him. I may hike up there opening day! :D Although... he was just passin thru im certain. :(

I hope you see him again in 10days not 10 years... You are having a great season, no reason you can't score on him.... Best of luck!

Those 200lb+ bucks are around, it seems like since the spike ban went into effect there are starting to be a few more reported. My father has taken 2 in VT in Jay that went 227lb and 236lb. I'm still searching for mine. Maybe this weekend!
