What a beauty, Joe, Matt and Jon! Did you get a weight on it?

Congrats!

Re: Omg ch3 and LCI fish handling

That must have been a riot to see! I realize a fish is a fish, but I would rather see a bowfin slung over a shoulder than a laker. No way that lake trout lived after that. Bowfin have thrived for thousands (millions?) of years for a reason.

Re: Omg ch3 and LCI fish handling

Wow. Never seen anything like that before. My first thought was the same as Bootstraps … they picked this footage to “cast” fishermen as Neanderthals and give us all a bad name.

Sounds like a perfect trip! Congrats! Guess I'm going to have to hit Kittery Trading Post this summer and stock up on DB Smelt. Anyone sell them locally?

Re: Lucas’s 1st salmon

Congrats on getting your new crew member hooked on salmon! I was out there early Saturday and it was encouraging to see so much bait in the Inland Sea. There was one bait ball so thick that it even had the lines dancing as I trolled through.

"Sleep Deprived" would be a good team name. Congrats on the 5th place walleye, guys!

Re: Reelax Rotary Derby report

Great report, guys! Way to tough it out. At least you had fun and ate good ... but I would expect nothing less. The "DEAD SEA" sure has reared it's ugly head this year. I fished Cowbanks (the whole corner from Paradise to the bridge) for 4hrs last Thursday evening and never moved a rod! Th...

Looks like maybe spots on the tail? If so, it is indeed a rainbow. It can be tricky to tell the difference! Glad you had some success.

Re: Finally some decent fish in the outer bay!

Way to go, Big Bear!

I probed the shallows of the outer bay Thursday afternoon hoping to find some walleye. No luck on them, but I did catch a 27” northern that became supper!

Re: How far back

"Cheaters" work all through the season. The only difference is that they will keep getting deeper as you run your main line deeper. There are 2 types of cheaters : Fixed cheaters that are held in place either by a rubber cheater clip, a rubber band half-hitched around the main line or some...

Re: How far back

I couldn't get hit close on my main line on Saturday, but the cheaters that were 5-7' down and 4' back were getting hit regularly. In fact, the cheaters were our most productive setups. We had one nice salmon jump right in the prop wash after smacking the cheater that was ~7' down. What a blast! Goo...

Re: 2023 DYP Final Results

What a great time that was! Paul (Voyager) and I were in the water by 6am. I had done some pre-fishing on Wednesday and found active fish off Long Point, only biting blue/silver. We started there Saturday morning with nothing to show for our efforts. Changed up colors ... nothing. Moved to outer Tow...
