I saw a lot of bait on the bottom between 60' and 80' so, I guess the smelts are not spawning yet in the river and the tr...

Any lakers ???
Hi,
I'll go fishing for the first time this year. Salmons seem to show up but what about lakers ? My usual summer playground is from Ausable to Willsboro.
Someone had a good laker fishing yet ?

Re: Knot to join braid to fluocarbone
It's a knot used mainly for salt water with heavy mono leader, 60# and more. You can cast with it as it goes true the guides quite good. I prefer the PR knots for my saltwater expeditions, or much better than any knots, splicing the leader inside a hollow braid, but it's quite a new technique used o...

Willsboro area oct.3
Fish schuyler- Willsboro bay- 4 brothers yesterday. I never seen that much bait and small hooks, the screen was full all day from 85ft to 120ft plus. The water temperature was 61 from the top to about 80ft. We had about 30 releases/lost fish, I suspect the small hooks to be withefish or ciscos cause...

Re: fleas
Lake Ontario have the fleas problem for a while now and the fish population and fishing is still very good.
Fleas stick on braid line badly but, if you switch to 20 lbs mono, you will collect noting but fish.
