Re: Saturday in the northern fleet
Yeah, I'll have to find something like that for an iPad. I've seen them with rubber clamps ... I think that would work. I'm planning on revamping my electronics this year. I've got a nice fishfinder that has been relegated to GPS/mapping duties and am using an old crappy fishfinder as the actual ff...

Re: IS Alewives 3-3024
I think I am right when I say that the Great Lakes salmonid fishery came about when salmonids (salmon, brown trout, and steelhead) were introduced to predate the alewives that had arrived via the St. Lawrence Seaway. Now the estimation of the alewife population drives the stocking plan for salmonid...

Re: Another Scotty question
Those look very interesting… I would also like to know if anyone uses these? I seldom have issues with the beads. But this looks totally foolproof..

Re: Lead core setup
Ps. If you Don’t get enough friction with a Willis knot you can double it with 2 square knots about a half inch apart. I call It a double Willis knot… The mono inside the nylon sheath seems Like a hard thing to do but it slides Right in as long as you have a clean cut in the Mono… Hope this helps… M...

Re: Lead core setup
Lead core is usually sold in what is called a “full core” which is 10 colors of lead. Each color is 10 yards long and will sink about 5 ft at trolling speeds. Currently I am running 2 color rods which are backed by florocarbon or mono put on the reel 1st. I usually put 1-200 yards of line in 1st, th...

Thanks for updating this Ron. I checked my trailer and pointed this out to a couple other boats out that day and still no owner found.

Re: Scotty Downriggers
The screw works loose after a few miles. Probably due to the rigger being over 20 years old and the screw hole is worn some.Wallyandre (Andre) wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 12:43 pm Like he said, just tigh up the screw under the cover

Re: Scotty Downriggers
I have old school Scotties and the covers like to blow Open at highway speeds. I use the line retrieves and wrap them over the covers and lock them down with 2 half hitches. I’ll show you next time I see you at launch. This has worked for 10 years for me… I’ll be launching Wed, just not certain wher...
