Re: LOOKING FOR THAT SPRINGTIME AREA OF WARMER WATER
Thanks for your post, Jim. I spent some time going over the Navionics chart and reflecting about where on the chart I had caught salmon. The analysis seemed to me that my salmon catch had nothing to do with bottom contours. I may be like other fishermen who finally resort to catching lakers which ar...

Re: Reelaxing Tuesday in TownFarm
Boy I bet it was windy down there. My son and I put my boat in at Point Bay Marina around 3PM and the wind was strong. Way to prevail against it, tho.

Kayak fishing = built-in social distancing.
Great report. Keep after all those species.

Glad to see this post. Wondered about your hard water fishing because you haven't posted about this. Or maybe I missed a post or two.

Re: 2020 DYP QUESTIONNAIRE
I am a cautious person and I am in the age group that is vulnerable to serious illness from this virus. So I agree with Gecha. Having the DYP this year is "not worth the risk". For a little more than a week I have been almost always isolated in my home with my wife. She said yesterday that...

@mhf - Matt
I think the primary forage fish of the trout and salmon in the Great Lakes has been the alewife. But has the fishing there been impacted by thiaminase? I know the alewife population is monitored by those states' F&W agencies and that is taken into account for stocking plans.
Thanks.

Re: Salmon Future
This thread has had me staying up at night thinking about fishing for salmon. I have decided to just explore a little more and fish where I have not fished very much the last couple of years. Last spring my son and I started out with a few salmon in Town Farm Bay - they were pushing 20" as I re...

Re: 4 stroke Mercury swap 150 hp to 200 hp at Vt Home and Marine
Nice to be happy with a big purchase. The 2017 Lund 1800 Tyee I bought last August came with a 2017 4S 115 Merc with only about 40 hours on it. I am very impressed by how quiet the motor is. Also the fuel economy. And Ron, your video on the Mercury digital control tach persuaded me to have Vt Home a...

Great that you're headed home for the holiday. Hope we'll be able to fish together next spring.

Re: Spawning Salmon volunteer today at White River National Fish Hatchery with Bill Ardren and team!
I think the White River Hatchery's Conn River restoration project eventually "pooped out" because of low returns. (Just confirmed that on their website.) So where do White River hatchery salmon wind up? What numbers for Lake Champlain and how does that compare to the Ed Weed facility?

Thanks for the videos, Ron.
Where did the salmon in the videos come from? Lake Champlain? Or?
