I found the kit I needed by using my serial on the Merc site. Found an original kit and ordered it. Nobody had it locally.

Re: Mercury water pressure low
Impelller should be changed after 2 seasons on the water. Depending on hours. Cheap maintainence. Important is too make sure its not on upside down. It can be easily done not paying attention. Theres alot of youtube videos out there to help. The previous owner told me he had never changed it. So i ...

Re: Mercury water pressure low
I'm not sure if its always been like this, but I cleaned the outlet out and it seems a tiny better. This is the flow during idle in this pic. Anyone know if I should be concerned with this pressure? http://i68.tinypic.com/w1r4nb.jpg I found a few how to videos on almost the same motor and it doesn't...

Re: Mercury water pressure low
Ill check the lines and go from there. Assuming thermostat first and if its still weak the impeller? Would a shop have them in stock, or would I need to order them online? While I'm thinking of it, I've had my trim make some very odd noises while idling. Like I was hitting up and down over and over ...

Mercury water pressure low
I noticed yesterday that the water pressure coming out of the motor seemed lower than usual and wasnt very strong at all. Especially during idle. Almost like it was struggling. Its an 01 2-stroke 40 HP Merc. Any thoughts on what I should be looking for/at? Hoping to start with the easiest fix first....

Re: Lake Trout Angler Mortality??
Someone needs to fix his keyboard....using ? Instead of a . is just ignorant. I think everyone on this forum knows how to safely release a laker for the most part. Length of the fight and surface temp are big factors. I cringe when I see hands in gills myself. Single over treble is also helpful. I w...

Checking in/boat update
Hey everyone, I've been trying to keep up with the forums once in a while but can't ever find the time to post. I spent alot of time fishing this Spring and caught a ton of fish, but for the last two months I haven't made it out much for a ton of reasons. I had my mind set on a new boat this Winter ...

Re: u.s wildlife netting and testing salmon on a champlain tributary
They've moved 80 adult salmon into closed waters for spawn testing but have confirmed salmon are making it above the falls even in this low water but not in very high numbers. Just like the Winooski, the fish are much less concenrated and harder to catch, but hopefully over time they will start seei...

A few more 30+" salmon
Hey guys, Been a while since I've had any free time besides fishing, work, and family obligations. I had a good start to a somewhat odd year for salmon fishing. Fish were late for the most part, and still are - but some did come up. I've gotten two fish over 30" so far this year, one being a 31...

Re: vertical jigging for lakers
Would there be Lake Trout in the inland sea in the deep trough between the Georgia Shore & Savage Island? Most people say there's no lakers in the inland sea, yet there are a few that say there are. People usually tell me that in order to jig lakers, you'd need to be out in the really deep area...
