Life jacket recommendations
Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a comfortable life jacket for frostbite fishing. The jackets I have on the boat meet coast guard standards but I could not imagine wearing them all day trolling. Interested to see what people have for opinions on this topic. Thanks!

The next low wind day ReelInvestment is headed! We’ve got some veni for the freezer now and all our firewood split. Time to get back to fishing!

Yeah, I think I made up my mind. Rifle is headed back to the gun safe and the boat is coming back out! Awesome report and some wicked nice fish, way to battle the elements. Hope to see you out there one of these days!

I love the buddy heater pocket! That’s a great idea. Mine is always bouncing around and sliding under power.

Just check with your local boat mechanic and see if they can get you one. That’s what I did, good luck!

I see! Sorry to hear about your bad fortune! Hope you find a good used motor somewhere, I had problems getting one replaced in my 87 invader. Ended up going with a factory refurbished one from merc, wasn’t much more than a decent used one, and had a 3 year warranty. Might be worth looking into!

Welcome to the forum! I notice you have an in outboard motor with a kicker. Do you just use the kicker this time or year? I also have an I/0 and I’ve been winterizing it after every trip. Getting a little old but awesome to keep fishing this time of year! Congrats to your kids PB, you’re getting the...

Thanks Ron! Just trying to check out what’s out there. I’ve also loved the high back boats for the same reasons you do. I like my Starcraft islander a lot, I’d just like to get away from the I/O to extend my frostbite season.

Ron I’ve been looking into the 196 a little bit. How many feet of deck would you say you have between the back curtain and the splash well? It’s hard to tell from pictures thanks!

Good work out there guys! We decided to focus on the deer woods today....seemed to work out as we have one hanging in the barn now. Figured we had to shoot some deer to have boat snacks all year!

Re: Summer Trolling in November
Great to see you guys out there again this week! Love seeing how much fun your kids have, they are going to be some unstoppable fishermen and women in the very near future! Some of my greatest fishing memories were fishing with my father growing up. Mostly fly fishing streams and rivers, now it’s fu...
