Re: first real frostbite outing
Jason - Nice report but let's get real and talk dogs! I grew up with Springers, and my wife and I have had tri colored springers for the past 3 generations. Some have been great hunters, but all are boat/lap dogs. We have three at home presently, as Teak and Cedar are now aging (11 and 10 yo), and w...

Re: Be Safe, and Carry a Knife!
A knife on the hip and cable cutter plyers at the transom are a must have on Champlain Too! I have had experiences on Champlain where not having them ready at hand would have changed the outcome of the day. In Frostbiting bad things can happen fast.....Not the time to be an indecisive Squirrel :o R...

Be Safe, and Carry a Knife!
As some here know, I've been chasing tuna for a long time. My preference is YFT on fly, but I'll take them any way I can. My wife has the Bermuda YFT record (conventional, not fly) and she said it was worse than childbirth. But Saltwater is a dangerous game. Be safe. Here's a current reminder: https...

Re: 2022 close out voyage on 12/31
Awesome end to a good year! After a slow start, I'm glad we found them! The greatest irony was landing three silvers in quick succession after your wife told us to play fish FISH ON as Zeb picked away! It's odd pulling the boat on December 31 to ramp conditions that were more like October (except th...

Re: Rod Holder trees
I don't run trees as Serenity runs solo, but I've deck monkeyed Reelax. His trees are awesome. We run it all, surface planers, mini dipsys, slide divers, lead and deep. It's a small transom, but well dialed in due to the flexibility the trees offer. I love the flexibility of his deck and if I was sh...

Having just completed a 9 lbs salmon smoke, you guys are all over this. Maybe we need to add a Smoke-out contest to the Shoot-Out or the Draw your Partner? I'd welcome sampling everyone's best!
