Re: Boating rules
I have had a couple of close encounters with a couple of sailboats and powerboats this year. I don’t understand why they think they need to get so close. Bad language doesn’t seem to chase them away either. Onetime I was fighting a fish and trying to change course! Guy was clueless and under power i...

Re: Hot weather blues
Sometimes it works out to be lucky and not know exactly what is going on. Last week with a dead probe, I caught 2 nice Salmon. I was guessing on the speeds and temp, but it just happened to work out.

Keith,
Do you know any scuba divers? If they frequent that dive site, they may find your equipment for you.
Worth a shot.

Re: Lake Champlain Cold Water Fishing is Terrible
I don't consider myself a Laker fisherman, but I think you are right. Catching something is better than nothing. I played with the Lakers last week. This is another one of those years where you have to think out of the box. Yesterday I found temp at 55-60 feet and that is where I placed the primary ...

Re: Lamprey spawning
I can't speak about Lakers as I have not targeted or caught many so far this year. However many of the Salmon I have caught have had either Lamprey hanging on them or fresh wounds. I don't think it's their ear they need to pull their finger out of.

You were definitely working hard, but you caught fish...that is a good sign at least.

Re: What’s your Spread....
I fish alone a lot as well. It depends on how much energy I have. Most always I will have the downrigger's out. I will set them at different distances back and depending on what the probe is telling me, I play with the depth. I will use sliders to get extra lures in the water. I have gone to Elberta...

These have been deadly lately for suspended Salmon. Dial in the correct depth and watch the rod pop.

Re: Reelaxing morning on the outer bay
Thanks for the update. It was busy out there on Saturday morning for sure as I counted 17 boats from my perch atop the cabin roofs with new shingles in hand. I tried to keep quiet as to not wake a sleeping C-Hawk missing the early action. Nice to see the Outer Bay getting some action again, its alw...

Re: Utilizing your Autopilot's Zig Zag function to catch more salmon!
Just curious, what do you figure the depths you were running with the Lead?
15-24 on the three colors and 25-40 on the 5 colors? Depending on speed and direction .

The salmon are out there and a ton of guys are catching them, all over the lake! The 22" 4lb salmon are not dead and gone, they are hiding. Gloom and Doom A very smart, knowing person told me a few years back when I was complaining about the lack of decent size salmon, "Todd...
