Re: Fishhook Flea infestation
May have to head down that way. I have some 40LB Mono strung on Convector reels that probably would solve the flea issue. Not as much fun fighting the fish though. Can't have everything....

Re: Fishhook Flea infestation
Jeff, I reluctantly agree.
Besides, we are at the point on the North part of the Lake where the fishing starts dying off in August and September anyway. Probably pull my boat out soon. Only so much Bass and Pike fishing I can take. Not sure what the Inland is producing right now.

Re: Fishhook Flea infestation
It was pretty bad on the Broad Lake yesterday. I was alone so not much fun setting gear and constantly checking. Plus the fishing was horrible. Not going to waste my time and gasoline. Definitely something going on the last couple of years on the northern part of the Broad Lake. The most productive ...

Re: Couple dozen on the inland sea.
Nice report. It has been producing up there for awhile.
My last trip from Outer Malletts Bay was Sunday....getting pretty low, big motor all the way up and powered thru with the Minnkota. 14-16 inches in the lowest spot.
I didn't notice Fleas, but the weeds were pretty bad.

Re: Finally using sliders
Lots of fun when fish hit both the main line and slider/cheater.
I was fishing alone 2 years ago and had cheaters on both rods..... Fish hit all 4 lures at once!
That was quite the Fire drill!
That was when I decided I needed 2 nets in the boat.

Lake Safety
I hate to be Mr. Gloom and Doom, but Lake conditions over the next few days do not look favorable.
If you feel like you need to be out there...be safe.
After the incident last weekend, it certainly makes you think twice.

Re: Daily Bag and Size Limits
I guess I have mixed feelings about this. I have to tell you, I am not a big fan of catching Lakers. With that being said, when targeting Salmon in Mid Summer you will get Lakers and be bringing them up from 80-90 feet. I don't care how good you are at reviving them....some will not make it. I am al...

Re: Curtain recommendation
The only comment I'll make is that if you want it done relatively soon, you will be lucky to get it done quick this time of year. This is the busy time for most custom canvas shops and they are booked out until August or later.

Boat is looking good Jeff. That top is nice.
Not sure what Skyland is looking like in terms of you being able to use a Boat Lift, but I am close....
Probably be able to use it for quite awhile this year.

Were you able to get to the Inland Sea from there or did you fish elsewhere?

Re: cormorants bullwagga bay
I'm told they migrate to the wetlands of Florida in the Winter. Maybe we can get the Good Ol boys from the South to take care of them before they head Nord in the Spring.

Re: Optimizer Spoons
I have a 1/2 dozen or so in various colors that I bought from Tinidad tackle a few years ago.
haven't used them very often. I believe the recommended speed is 3 MPH or faster.
I don't really like trolling at that speed and to be honest I haven't had much luck.

Re: Downrigger release advice needed
Chamberlain also makes a stacker release that I have used all by itself 10-15 feet above the cannonball with some success. Like they say...some days you have to try everything in your arsenal!
