Re: GoPro mashup - trout on dry flies
Matt, that was one of the best videos I've seen! I like the way you really concentrated on the shady overhang. Given the low water, high temps and sun, you were right on mentally. Great casting and accuracy. Fun fish!

Re: Old Depth Temp and Speed Trolling Unit
Thanks Ed. My unit is an old Penguin II, made by Electro Marine Systems. Moor Electronics, makers of Sub Troll 900, used to do EMS's service work for them. When the EMS owner retired, Moor acquired their inventory and initial design rights. Since then, they've made several improvements given the adv...

Old Depth Temp and Speed Trolling Unit
I have a depth temp and speed trolling unit which looks just like a Moor Sub-Troll. It came with my old Cobia Sportster. The unit at the downrigger weight has a side paddle wheel. The back unscrews and a 9 volt battery powers it up. It is water tight with an O-ring. It was then attached to a coated ...

Re: Hummingbird may have crapped the bed
If you mean by "manual mode", that I set the bottom to a certain depth (I also use 150'), I did that earlier when the damned thing was working. Now, it doesn't want to work beyond .7'!

Re: Hummingbird may have crapped the bed
Thanks Fishadventure. I went out Thursday after readjusting the txducer and washing it very well. At first, it gave accurate and strong bottom reading. Then, in deeper water, >80' , it consistently reflected .7' with a range of 0' - 10'. I fished anyway for an hour or so, at 60'-75', by chart, then ...

Re: Homemade planer mast and boards
Those are beauties! I've dipped homemade handles in that liquid plastic coating you can get at the hardware stores. Sets up fast and is durable. Also have done the soles of worn hip waders that I use for my smaller boat.

Re: Hummingbird may have crapped the bed
Shake-n-Bake, that's the other thing mine does and sometimes the power just goes off too. Thank you.

Hummingbird may have crapped the bed
I have a 581i which may have bit the dust. Depth readings in 150' sometimes fluctuate and show .6' and then 584'. I checked and re-leveled the transducer. All the connections seem ok, including power. Speed and surface temp are ok. I will soapy water clean it Wed AM and then take it out if this wick...
