Main lake 7/10 first Steelie of the year
Went out for a few hours tonight in the main lake. Marked a few bait balls around with some fish on them finally, which was encouraging. Ended up with 1 steelhead first one of the year for me. 22" and skinny,. But she put on a amazing Arial show. Trying to add photo keeps saying file too large....

Re: Cumberland head / Gravelley point
Probably 75% of the Lakers I caught in that area this year either had a fresh mark or lamprey still attached. And a number of them had 2 attached. I haven't noticed a difference with the lamprey treatments in the last 5 years if anything I see alot more immature lampreys. Most 6 to 8 inches long.

Re: Skunked again!!!
If your after Lakers Dan. There is more than you can handle in the locations you fish. If I'm specifically targeting Lakers I only fish the bottom I never fish the thermocline. I stay 5 feet off the bottom this time of year in the 80 to 90 fow range. You can pull clean spoons or stickbaits. Or run c...

I tried my hand at a little walleye fishing. 6/25 I anchored off gunboat island reef. Casting a green eerie deerie and 5" eel. Caught a few rock bass but no walleye. Started fishing at 930 pm and was off water at midnight. 6/26 on the water at 1015 pm and trolled between valcour and crab island...

Congrats and nice fish. I didn't even know you guys pulled cowbells for salmon. I've never caught one that way with a inline cowbell.

Re: Main lake 6/7
Went out again today. Fished 730 to 1130. No salmon or bait around. Only slimers. Fished from valcour across the main lake to Providence and stave island down around Jones rock and back up. Only bait marked was way down below 100' when I was that deep searching.
