Re: Monday 8-17 and Thursday 8-20
Matt..... really.... I have been waiting days for your Monday report. Maybe I should tell the “Relax” report for Monday. Let’s take a stab at it. Hey this is Matt... another stellar morning on the water, a bit of a hold up at the ramp because Jeff and Todd hadn’t seen each other in a while and were ...

Re: 4 boat fleet on a hot lake..
Great post Matt and thank you very much for the Rumaki, Molly and I enjoyed them tremendously. Fishing is still outstanding, our day started with double 10lb lakers and ended with double salmon a small 14” and a 21” salmon. We lost count of lakers and salmon today but the two browns and two steelies...

Tom,
Great meeting you at the restaurant, after you left we all decided that you were most definitely a hard core angler considering what time you headed out in the morning.

Re: choosing correct split ring and hook size for lures
Chad, Without seeing and holding your spoon this would only be a guess. #4 splits will cover just about anything you have. On the spoons that are a bit heavier and wider on the bottom I run #4 on the front and #5 On the back. Narrower spoons I run #3. Hooks can be bought at Lakeland, the have an eas...

Re: Memorable Monday with a 2 boat fleet
Sure was an interesting morning on the water. The highlights were the 6 lb salmon and the 7.7 Steele. The Steele photo does not do it justice, 27 1/2 “ and shaped like a torpedo. The range of emotions that I went through fighting that fish most likely took 2 years off my life. Out of the water 3 or ...

Taycon,
We use to do a photo of the year contest. The photo of Taylor sitting in the live well looking at her phone is an absolute classic and the best fishing photo i have seen in years.

Re: 2020 LCI DERBY REPORTS
Jim, The spoon that Buzzy and Jeremy caught the big salmon on was purchased through a Crazy Ivan silent auction, he paid $800.00 for it. Four sets of spoons were Auctioned off last year for a grand total of $2,350.00. All the money goes to The Three Day Stampede for the cure of Cystic Fibrosis. For ...

Re: Good luck rotary fisherman! Let us know how you do!
Day two was just as challenging as day one, 5 salmon and use bug repellent to keep the lakers away. We did manage three lakers over 9lbs, and one 10.4. All 85 feet down.
We got caught in the storm and had a very exciting ride back to the bridge. Hope everyone got off safe.

Re: Good luck rotary fisherman! Let us know how you do!
Silvers were hard to find first thing Friday. We had a couple right off then a big storm came through a little south of us and scattered them. Lakers on the other hand were raining from the sky. We weren’t bored that’s for sure. Salmon and bait reappeared around 4 pm and we finished with some solid ...

Re: 2020 DYP QUESTIONAIRE
Just my two cents. I can only imagine that this crisis is going to get a lot worse in the next 4 weeks. its a giant uncontrollable weed spreading like wild fire. Our situation is changing every minute, we do not know what tomorrow brings much less a month from now. I vote postpone it until we can al...

Re: Great Day trolling the southern lake with ControlledCaos and Reelax
Great read! What is that orange thing? I have no idea what it is. Fisherman leave spoons and gear aboard my boat because I won’t take gas money.. that thing was left on the boat this fall by someone... not sure who or where it came from... It has a great action but is toooo big for salmon... IMHO.....

Jeff,
I hope thing turn around for you up there. You have a lot of water to cover up there, they could be hiding just about anywhere. My area of fishing is roughly 21 miles as a crow flys and quite a bit narrower so the search is more realistic.

Re: Salmon Future
I have been fishing hard for salmon since 1985, the areas that I fish come and go over the years. Just like the spoon dujour, it’s always changing. 2019 was one of my best years yet and I didn’t spend much time in any of my usual spots. I fish from cedar beach to south of the bridge, it has always b...
