Re: DYP?
I was just about to ask this question! Looking forward to a DYP after missing last year. I got to learn a ton from Kyle Smith the first year I participated.

Re: Lake trout stocking
So I asked a question along these lines at the state of the lake meeting but can't remember the answer. What are some of the challenges with stocking salmon that aren't there with lakers? While I can understand the stock more salmon argument stock less lakers argument. There has to be a reason why s...

Re: LI-ION Battery Jump starter
Hey Striper! I think you'll be pleased. I have stupidly forgotten to charge my starting battery a couple of times and the Hulkman worked great. I've also helped jumped a couple of folk's battery. It's super nice to have it onboard as a backup. Let me know what you think.

Re: LI-ION Battery Jump starter
Yeah not much to share. I was looking at either this one or the NOCO boost. After taking a look at reviews I found that the Hulkman was just as good if not better. What it didn't have was the price tag or long term reviews like the NOCO did. The reviews I did read were promising. The Hulkman does ha...

Re: Juniper Island
Some plans with my wife and her friends brings me to Juniper Island Saturday afternoon and evening. I have never fished around it. I was planning to give it a try for trout or salmon. I was planning on setting my riggers at 70 ft with cowbells on the ball and stacked releases and spoons for lakers ...

Re: How's my plan for Friday? (Still in pursuit of first lake trout)
Have you been fishing out of a red/yellow kayak in converse? If so, I think I've seen you out there. Even as recently as last Sunday. I am on the creme and blue Lund. So you are spot on with the heavy jigs and spoon. You'll need it to keep those baits down on the bottom. I'd be more concerned on how...

Re: Fall and Beyond fishing
Thanks for the heads up Crayfish! How is Converse as a launch during the winter? It's currently a tough launch for me due to low water all around the actual launch. I launched on a windy day and had to take an unplanned dip to drag my boat out of the mud 30 yards from the dock.

Re: Fall and Beyond fishing
Thanks for the thorough write up Digitroll! I appreciate it! Do you find that this forum is a bit more active during the winter months for meetups? I honestly was expecting more action on here during the summer but it seems work and fishing leaves little time for forum talk. 1. I am pretty fair weat...

Fall and Beyond fishing
Hi all! So this is my first year owning a boat (1999 Lund Adventure Pro 17ft) and am not sure what to expect out of fall fishing on Champlain and even the possibility of frostbite fishing (although I probably won't my first year). Just curious what sort of things I'll have to do to keep fishing late...

Just anecdotal, but I have heard that lakers in the inland sea are few and far between.

Re: Converse Launch condition
Thanks for the heads up amFishFil! I launched on Wed and did fine. Skinny water all around the launch that may have been tricky with wind but was pretty straight forward. I was in a 17.5' Lund Adventure. I did see some giant carp coming out of the launch. At first I thought they may have been sheeps...

Converse Launch condition
Anyone launch out of Converse recently? Is the launch still usable? I know the water was pretty low and the area surrounding the dock was 1-3 feet deep. Made for some tight maneuvering? If it isn't usable what launch would you all suggest to fish that area on the Vermont side?
