Awesome! You must have been so proud. Let’s bet it felt better than most of the fish you’ve caught yourself.

Thanks for the info, guys. I’ll use spinnerbaits that first day. I’ll be at a cottage in St Albans after that, so I won’t mind catching a salmon or a trout after that.

If you’re still catching trout this late in May, does it mean the water is still too cold and I shouldn’t expect to catch bass from shore? I’ll be fishing in Sherlburne bay Monday and I’d rather not catch salmon/trout since I won’t be in a position to keep a fish if I injure it.

Fishing has been dreadful for me in the St Albans area. The ice made its way out only Tuesday. Weather has been nasty.

Thanks for the info! You’ll have to do a youtube video one of these days. I’m sure it would help quite a few people.
Edit: found a few videos showing the old school method. Thanks again!

Re: shore fishing for walleyes and pan fish
Damn. That a lot of fish. Good job! Any advice on cleaning the fish?
I see you leave the tail. Do you eat it? (Hope the question isn’t too stupid)

Re: launch site updates
Are the general conditions pretty similar to last year? Going to St Albans from the 14th to the 19th and I’m hoping I can fish from shore like last year.

I did a little research and it might have been a white sucker.

Re: pan fishing and cafishing2017 ADDED PIC OF 30 LB PLUS CATFISH 7/25/2017
Although I told myself Wednesday night that I wouldn’t fish again because the weather was miserable and I couldn’t get anything to bite, I headed to St Albans bay again Thursday afternoon. I ended up catching my first fish of the season and it felt great. Finished with one bullhead, one silver perch...

I had 3 90 minute sessions in the last 2 days and not a single bite. The water is cold and dirty.

Nice. Thanks! I love fishing catfish. I could set a rod in the rod pod for carp and see if I can get a few catfish with the other rod.

Nice report, as usual. Sucks to lose a few fish, but at least you’re getting them to bite. Can’t wait for my first outing of the year Monday.
