6/25 Converse
Since the weather was calling for calm seas we decided to head down and launch out of converse and try for some salmon and lakers. Morning started out slow with a few releases and one decent salmon… headed south to try for lakers with only one nice one on and a few releases. Decided to pick up and t...

Fun on the Inland Sea
Went out for a few hours this morning with my son Max. Started a little slow but then my son was able to hook into a Beauty of a salmon. It slammed the rigger hard and was airborn before Max was able to get to the pole. After clearing a rod to make space to land it in the middle his salmon started m...

Key West 2023
Went down to Key West a couple weeks ago. Headed out into the big blue with Rough Shot charters. Was hoping to find some Mahi Mahi but after a strong week of winds prior to our arrival we just couldn’t find them. We decided to do some reef fishing. Amazing how blue and clear the water was. Could see...

Re: Fish bite on this wavy afternoon
The lost fish were from spitting the hook except for the steelhead. Thinking the line wrapped around the fish caused the line break. I usually run 8lb leaders and check them often. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t lol. I know I can’t wait to get back on the water! Lots of nice steelhe...

Fish bite on this wavy afternoon
After a good weekend day of fishing I decided to bail from work and take my boy fishing. Said winds 5-9 out of the north but when we got to Converse it was way stronger winds. I decided to set up in the bay before we hit the swells and I was just setting up the 3rd rigger when the drag started screa...

Another nice steelhead
Decided on a short afternoon trip to fish with my girlfriend since she couldn’t go last week. Set up out of Converse and hooked up to a smolt right off. We trolled down to Thompson’s Point and then across to split rock. Was pretty choppy and made for a bouncy troll. We cut up the NY side north to th...

Re: Tagged laker
Forgot… the orange Michigan Stinger was what caught 90% of the fish. Saw it on a Maine forum this past spring a guy was slamming salmon on it. No salmon for me but the lakers loved it!! It’s in the Stingray size.

Launched out of Converse with my son this morning. Saw fish chasing bait on the surface so we set up right off. No takers but ran into a few weed blobs so turned and went towards Thompson’s. When we were about to Thompson’s we hooked into double lakers…. After a few minutes on we lost both lakers lo...

Re: 9 hour LCI Dress Rehearsal
Saw you guys out there Saturday afternoon. I was in my new (yes another new boat) white and blue Sea Nymph. Just after we passed you off of Thompson’s Point we hooked up with a nice Steelhead. My girlfriend had her hands full with that fish jumping like crazy but she managed to get it to the net and...

Headed down to Otter creek Saturday night to spend the night in the new boat. Decided to go out trolling for for an hours or so before we docked up for the evening. Set up trolling south through the narrows with a 4 pole spread from 55’-70’. After about a half hour my rod at 55’ popped and was just ...

Re: Rotary weekend
Kyle... was a bumpy ride back Sunday but the new boat handled them well.
Reelinvestment... loving the new boat. Still trying to get a feel for everything but liking the swim area on the back over my previous boat as it’s easier to net fish from there.

Rotary weekend
Well it was a Rotary for the record books for me this year on the Inland sea. Have not scene salmon numbers like these since the 90’s. It started out slow Friday at sandbar.. on the water by 4:30am to be greeted by a nasty bug hatch. My boat was covered!! I have never delt with such massive amounts ...

Re: Show Boat
Hopefully it will turn into an awesome trolling machine.. I loved my 2004 1802 trophy but wanted just a wee bit more space but stay small enough to hit some inland lakes as well. I like the canvas but might see if I can have some zipper windows put in the front as the morning dew makes it hard to se...

Re: Show Boat
I upgraded my boat yet again... decided to go a little newer and a little bit bigger but not to much. Went with a 2007 Bayliner trophy pro. It’s a foot wider and a foot longer than my old trophy and powered by a Mercury Verado 135 four stoke with smart gauges which will make it go slow enough to tro...
