TI on Sunday

Hit up Ticonderoga on Sunday with my son and nephew. Took the quads out, plenty of ice (12+)but found a nice slush hole on the way back in. My jaw-jacker testing is over, Had 3 minnows stolen off it, 1 trip the rest nothing. Nephew got 4 nice northers, all released. No perch which was surprising. We...

South bay and TI Sunday

Started out on South Bay, 6-7 inches where we were. Water was clearer than normal for there, but no fish. We then headed up to Ti. Water cloudy there, and still no fish. 4-6 inches where we were,(in the little bay) but you could see open water on the VT side, so I would be careful the further out yo...

Re: 9-22

None on the graph, but we saw some breaking the surface. No luck casting around the bait though.

9-22

Fished Sunday with my nephew in the far southern part of the lake. Water temp was 64 and level was low. Water seemed muddier than normal. We hit a few spots without much luck, a lot of the spots I have hit before were now on dry land. We finally found some fish on a mudline that formed from all the ...

Re: my ist day on the ice in 2 years and targav18 in many years

Could not start a new thread, so I'll try here. Tried the Ti area before the storm on Saturday. Did not get much time in as the snow started early. Stiff north wind and cold. Only went out to 7-8 feet of water as there were a lot more pressure ridges than normal and the ice was booming. Had 5 inches...

Re: Record long nose gar

Lots of them in South bay, you can see them up by the surface when the weather is right. Hard to hook on normal lures. I have heard of using twine to catch them instead of hooks. From the article it looks like they catch them all the time (box for unhooking them)

Re: Winterizing boat/using it in Nov/Dec?

For winterizing I have been putting mothballs in the boat and under the cowl for years. Have not had a mice problem, just make sure you clean them out before starting. Star tron has never let me down with the fuel, i actually run it year round. Have not done any cold weather trips with it though, ol...

Re: ethanol change

I have been running ethanol fuel with star-tron for quite a few years now with no issues. All the lines on my 1994 outboard were alcohol rated. I did replace them over the last 2 years, figured 20+ years was pushing my luck. The first year E10 came out I had to replace the fuel pump on my mower, the...

Re: whos doing the LCI?

Me my son and grandma tried on Saturday around Ticonderoga. Nothing big enough to enter. Wind was already picking up, had 1 foot plus waves just south of Crown Point, water temp 63 to 68 according to the fish finder. Tons of bass boats out, a lot of my spots had 3-4 boats on them already. My seven y...

Re: Catching Live Bait?

Sabiki rigs are out unless you cut them down to 2 hooks in Champlain. From the guide: Any person who has a fishing license or is entitled to fish without a license may collect minnows (except carp and goldfish), killifish, mudminnows, darters, sticklebacks, stonecats, smelt, alewives and suckers for...

Restaurant near Ticonderoga

Does anyone know of any boat accessible restaurants in the Ticonderoga area(+ or - 20 miles) of the lake? Looking for someplace with a dock or a muni dock near by to stop for lunch.

Ti Ferry

Fished Ti ferry area on 2-19. 10-12 inches of ice and lots of slush, Jigged up a mixed bag of perch out one hole, nothing on any of the tip-ups. Had to drill around to find them. water was clear enough to use the camera, helped me learn the area a bit.
