Converse and Beyond 11/13/17
Hello members, This will be my first post of the year. Not that I haven’t been out but I have not produced much of anything. I think I have been skunked more times this year than in the last 5 years combined. Prior to today I had caught a total of 2 salmon but with the cold weather and the bite on I...

Re: Converse 10/31
The water looks a little calmer than on Saturday. The waves weren't terrible but pushed us around hard and overwhelmed the autopilot several times. It was a north west wind blowing to 16 kts. We hugged the NY side to stay out of it. It switched to more northerly on the way back and crossing the aby...

Converse 10/31
The lake is almost at 94' so I thought I would give Converse a try. I have a 21' boat and it weighs about 3000 lb and drafts 18". I read Ron's posts about launching there last week so if something went wrong I was just going to blame him. http://i1163.photobucket.com/albums/q552/ccjoepilo...

Re: Great time on the lake
Thanks for the report guys. I am taking my son and his friend out this afternoon in that area and I hope we can get him into some lake trout. Last few times I have taken him out the fishing has not been that great. I would love to see him have a 10+ fish today.

Thanks, good to know!MADSIERRA wrote:make sure you get a trolling bag...not a drift sock. most drift socks will not hold up to trolling. Amish outfitters make the best ones but they are some what $$... Big papa sportfishing also makes some very good ones. both web sites will tell you what size you need.

Drift Sock Size
Thanks for all the help on my earlier post about switching to digital cable to try and control the trolling speed for my boat. Turns out, the boat will move along at 2.2-2.4 mph in no wind. I'm also adding a new throttle cable for extra control for fine tuning. However, when I turn downwind in a ste...

I have an iPhone and this is how I post pictures-
Click- post reply, then click "attachments, then "add file"' then "photo library, then select the photo you want, "done", "submit".
Try that and see if it works.
Would love to see a picture of this fish!

Great news! It's reassuring when you have days like that especially after so many bad days. It lets you know that you ARE doing it right.
Congrats!

Re: Anyone fished outside the Causeway in Colchester yet?
I've fished the main lake side of the Colchester fill/ bike path if that's what you are talking about. I have been out three times for lakers from the opening of the fill all the way to the mouth of the Winooski River. Finally dialed them in the last day. I have trolled spoons and Rapalas on both lo...

Re: Trolling Motor Question
After further research it appears I was only looking at the gauges for the I-Command system for $250. Talked with Vermont Home and Marine today and the system will range between $3000-$4000. Once installed everything will be in place to control to rpms to manage my speed. I could probably get $1500 ...

Re: Trolling Motor Question
Thanks! I'll give Evinrude a call tomorrow. $250 is much cheaper than $4000. My hope is I-Command will be enough to use in conjunction with a troll control.

Trolling Motor Question
Hello all, I am in need of some advice. I have a 2012 Evinrude E-Tec 175 attached to a 2004 Seaswirl Striper 2101DC and I want this motor to be my trolling motor over the 8hp Yamaha kicker I have. I also need to use this as a family boat and the kicker (although very nice) is in the way. My first ch...
