Re: Lake trout over supply and Salmon shortage!

I agree with the low salmon numbers. I have been losing interest in Champlain as just targeting Lakers gets old. Two weeks ago, I fished Ontario with a friend and we say lots of bait and caught browns, steelhead, kings, and we even dropped down to sample the lake trout. We had two days of fishing an...

Lake Level

I have heard that the lake level is a bit low. Does anyone know if the Shelburne Bay launch is still OK to launch a medium sized boat? (18 ft Targa; a friends boat)

I haven't made it back to the lake since the LCI, so I am out of touch with things there.

Thanks,

Re: Fishing community looses another Legend

Damn. Another fishing legend lost. I never met Jim either, but I loved how he lived vicariously though all of the fine fishermen on this forum. He couldn't get out and do what he loved, but this community brought him along with our stories. Most of us have a bunch of his lures and I know every time ...

Re: 2022 DYP winners… The Country Angler crew..

I chose the Greenhorn name for a good reason.

You are welcome aboard the Greenhorn anytime. She is a lot smaller than you are used to, but she fishes really well!

2022 DYP winners... The Country Angler crew..

Thanks for getting the DYP winners post going Matt and for posting all of those great pictures. For those of you that missed the DYP this year, you missed an epic event. Records were set and a few firsts happed also. First, Brody's winning fish weighted in at a DYP record 7.27 lbs! Next, the first a...

Re: DYP- Save the date

Country Angler, Dilly Worm, and AmFishFil Thinking, I have a nice trophy to give out to the youngster 16 or younger that catches the Longest salmon (or brown, or steelhead). Not the biggest fish landed on the boat, but the biggest one caught by the child. In the event that no one catches that target...

Yes, I will add the Country Angler as a family team. Welcome to the DYP!

- Team #6; Country Angler (family team)

I don't know if there is a favorite team or not, but there are some formidable teams out there including the family teams. Looking forward to the friendly competition!

DYP Drawing results

I posted this under the sign up string, but decided to repost it on a separate header so all could find it. OK, it is official. The DYP drawing is complete. We had a light turn out this year, but there are (5) teams competing for the coveted DYP plaque. Here are the teams: - Team #1; Dilly Worm (Med...

Re: DYP sign up

OK, so I have eight signed up so far and two of them are family teams (Dilly Worm and AmFishFil Thinking). I also have one member willing to sign up (can go Saturday, but not Sunday), but I don't have a partner for him. Anybody else thinking of signing up? I will be drawing teams in a few hours. Tha...

DYP sign up

Well, I'm still waiting for the official word, but I can't wait any longer. I am going to open up the sign ups for the DYP. The date is May 21st with a rain date of May 22nd. It would be great if we could field at least 10 teams, so spread the word and let's make this a great DYP! Please sign up by ...
