Re: Kingston stripers 2017

Last weekend the 13th the water was 54deg. Way to cold so the fishing was slow. Only a couple smaller ones. I pulled the boat last weekend so I'm back up here in VT. Likely this weekend will be very good fishing, but i cant get down that way. The water last weekend had so many fish my down riggers w...

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

Nope I was not at the DYP and generally cant make that event. Its usually to early and in mud season so i cant get the boat out. I should just sign up without one of these years. I've made it to the frost bit tournament a few times. I brought Serrano(hot pepper) mac and cheese a few years ago and i ...

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

I do generally fish Weekends. I think though this will be the last weekend down in Kingston. I'm planning to tow the boat home to VT on Sunday. I'll launch out of Charlotte either Point Bay or Converse Bay launches for the summer. I do think the Striper season is going to go on for a bit though. Its...

Likely the last weekend for me down there. Welcome to join. I think i only have one other person heading...

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

Agreed but i think its going to be high water. Last weekend tree's were floating down but fish were still there. Hope the fish are biting better but i don't think it will slow down no matter how high it gets. Nothing like fishing a moving obstical coarse.

good luck

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

I made it down to Kingston on Friday!. Had a bit of entertainment to start as one of my trailer brakes decided to lock up just as i entered the highway. After that it was smooth sailing all the way down. Hit the water at 3pm and by 6 had a nice 26lb fish(Right in the slot). Caught trolling with Hot ...

Re: LATEST DEVELOPMENT ... BOAT ACCESS LAW 5pm Tues

Here is a response i received from Sen. John Rodgers. No idea if its the case. The bill will not effect boat ramps that do not have a certified boat wash or greeter program which is most of the ramps in VT. There are only around 28 ramps in the state that have washes or greeters. Most washes and gre...

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

Well i got my boat started after having to clean up all battery wires/lines etc. That run down to Hatteras last year, the salt likely didn't help. Good to go now so heading down to Kingston this Sat. I should be there around Noon or so. I'll fish a bit spend the night and fish Sunday morning then he...

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

Sounds like we will be there around the same times. Mostly weekends for me though. Can't wait. I hope this year ends up a great run for the Stripers. They are such a blast.

Re: Kingston stripers 2017

I've been Striper fishing every year for the past 5 years down in the Albany area out of the Henry Hudson town park one exit south on the throughway below Albany. it is a very very nice park with great launch and parking. Clean Safe and just amazing, however it is a bit hit or miss up that far. We d...

Kingston stripers 2017

Hello Everyone, I received some great advice last year from people fishing down in the area, so I'm thinking about towing my boat down to Kingston and leaving it for a few weeks. Make a few trips down on the weekends or even a few weekdays. Anyone heading down that way this year? I'm not sure if i w...

Re: Lowrance Chirp not reading depth

here are a few items/suggestions i found at lowrance site. * Losing depth in shallow water: It can sometimes be difficult for a high-powered unit to capture the lightning-fast return in shallow water. Turn off the automatic sensitivity setting and manually reduce the sensitivity until the unit locks...

Re: Lowrance Chirp not reading depth

Interesting you post this. I switched to lowrance chirp this summer and i get the same thing. Mostly in very shallow water or very deep if it changes fast. If i turn down the gain in shallow it some times works or if i switch to a standard non chirp of 105hz it sometimes does better. 105hz seems to ...

Re: OBX Hatteras Video - Finally got one uploaded

Got a couple close looks at it.. I'm fairly sure it was a black tip reef shark. It was about 7-8 foot long. We had it right by the boat at one point. I was having trouble with the camera. Its one of the new go-pro sessions. hard to tell when its on in the dive case in bright sunlight.
