Fished yesterday in same general area with 30 lb test and had fleas on the knots.Also fleas were on the wire rods Fishing very slow for us boated 1 small salmon,broke a good fish off on a wire dipsey,had a few other releases.Good luck.

Fished Westport area today and fleas were terrible! They were balling -up on knots,swivels,and fouling rod guides.Gave up running braid dipsie had to break out the 30 pound reels to make fishing manageable.Did manage several lakers and 1 nice salmon.Caught several small 8” salmon wondering if lake w...

Thanks Gerry the day was fantastic and was made better with my family onboard.Regarding the dB smelts,not sure if they are available locally,I purchased mine online from a vendor in New Hampshire.

Fished Saturday with my wife and daughter first 2 hours very slow once my daughter woke from her nap in the cuddy rods started to fire.Caught and released 5-6 silvers,no real braggers,another 6 lakers with 1 slob,first Champlain brown boated,then while making final turn rigger fires and my daughter ...

I have used a Downrigger snubber made by Amish Outfitters,works great,takes the stress out of the cable.

Fished long and hard on Sunday ended with 13-14 lakers,no slobs and 1 micro salmon,not much bigger than the spoon.Fleas were not bad for us.Salmon bite seems to be off from last year at least for us.

After chasing silvers for nearly 40 years got our personal best on Friday.Great battle on 10lb test and light action downrigger Rod didn’t have a scale on board but fish was a brute.Caught 5 with 1 dink and 3 other good size fish.Great day for the crew and lasting memories.
