Personal best Salmon for the lady | Great day on the water
Last year I netted my personal best salmon while trolling the IS on independence day - this year on the 4th my wife one upped me! We ended up going 6 for 6 (1 Salmon and 5 Lakers). Trolled 70-75 feet down in 100FOW - all fish came off blue/silver spoons.

Big Jon | Spooling/Respooling
All, I have an electric Big Jon, the original reel on mine needs to be replaced so the bungee is able to catch and operate the cable counter. Is there a preferred method of taking the existing cable off the old one and respooling the new one with that same cable or should I just take that old reel o...

Re: IS July 4th - Personal best
Thanks for the link Raz, seems like there is a known bug in uploading photos, I put a link in my post to my catch for now, though I'd rather include an image in my text post as well - enjoy!

IS July 4th - Personal best
Took my wife and our dog out on the water July 4th. Our plan was to fish for a few hours 10a until noon-ish then do some swimming with the pup. Launched from Apple Tree and fished the Cow Banks to Cedar and back a few times - Ranged from 25' to 45' - colors were purple, white and gold. First fished ...

Re: low water
Spin,
It's probably the same distance if you launch from Malletts Bay vs Vantines.
Looking at: http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/cms/On ... eId=243390
There is Allen Point Access Area but I've never launched from there...

Re: Sat/Sun/Monday | Port Henry, NY Troll
We didnt get out on Sunday until ~9am - we hit two silvers right off the bat in 80 FOW 30' down (headed north from the launch). Then caught a TON OF SUN for the next 3 hours. Just before all hell broke loose with the weather we boated a laker. Monday was a 5am start and again boated a nice salmon in...

Re: Lake Trout flesh color??
Hey Dick, I only started to target and harvest a few lakers last year. I fished west of the Colchester bike ferry out towards the NY side and the color was either yellow tinted or full on yellow. They're not pink like salmon, that's for sure. I do a flower, egg wash and panko breading before I deepf...

Re: Catch and release
@fishmaster176 did the warden you speak with direct you to where the reg it states this? This is straight from the F&W site "Angling is catch-and-release only and all bass must be immediately released (after a quick photo, of course)." ~as NHfishin4fun stated above http://www.vtfishand...

Sat/Sun/Monday | Port Henry, NY Troll
Going to head over to NY this holiday weekend, thinking of towing the boat to Moriah, NY and launch out of there to try the salmon/trout troll - any advice would be helpful (areas to steer clear from and that sort of thing). Going to be bringing a few kiddos with me as they've been begging me to tak...
