Re: Fishy 1
My friendship with Matt began right here in the forums, talking about salmon and trout fishing the tribs. His passion for the sport and sharing his experiences with others permeated through every story he shared. We would get together a few times a year in some 'secret' and not-so-secret spots and i...

Re: CORMORANTS!!
Looks like the Province of Ontario is stepping up the war on Cormorants. Let's hope New York and Vermont can make it happen too:

It was a fantastic day thanks Matt! Quite the climb to get up there but well worth it. Im glad we were well dressed because it already feels like winter in the higher elevations. Good job Matt! Im sure Alayna is having a ball spending so much time fishing with her pa pa during the summer break. How did you prepare the bullhead for dinner? Besides the obvious skinning part, is there a recipe you prefer?

Re: Ice Fishing
I went out last Saturday and fished Willsboro Bay. Big fat zero. Barely saw any movement on the flasher and absolutely no bites despite drilling 20+ holes in depths varying from 5 to 50 fow. I'll try closer to home next time. I enjoy ice fishing but honestly...... I can't wait for April.... https://...

Also, everyone needs to learn this: http://www.outdoorcanada.ca/Why-you-should-always-always-ALWAYS-release-big-fish This the reason that we are seeing a major improvements with the walley fishery in Quebec. They introduce a slot limit (I don't remember the exact inches) I don't measure because I g...

Northern Adirondacks hard water report
Went to one of the few lakes which allow ice fishing in the Northern Adirondacks today. Spent about 5 hours on the ice and man was I happy to have brought a thermos of hot soup with me! Temps varied from single digits below 0 to singles above by mid-afternoon. Saw lots of movement on the flasher on ...
