Re: Walleye Questions

We've had some success over the years at night, in the sea, long lining stickbaits off the boards. I set my speed based on observing the action of the lure. We've hooked up all over, hugging the island's and reefs and over deep water in the middle of the basin. Usually we'll see bait rising up in th...

Re: cannon power cord

Mine did the same thing. I emailed Cannon customer service asking how to get replacements. They sent me a call tag to ship them back and they replaced them on the house. They were around ten years old at the time.

Re: Another Inland Sea report

The fact the larger spoon was getting whacked consistently inspires me to not give up on it. My first thought was 'smaller hook' and I will try that just because that's part of the fun of fishing. As well as the offset trick. I did switch it out for a smaller spoon after a bit. I've got a few large ...

Re: Another Inland Sea report

Dick, You can join me in the boat. We can take turns running the net. And the camera. Tamiron, your discussion about larger lures was in my mind. I gave a large Bee plenty of opportunity. I got quite a few releases on it but nobody home every time. A smaller Bee and a Michigan Stinger did most of th...

Another Inland Sea report

Managed to get out a few times over the last ten days. First trip I set up and ran the old faithful route. Set up as soon as I hit 100' out of St A Bay and headed south down Georgia Shore. Managed only one salmon and had to constantly check the lines for perch. All yellows, no whites. Next trip I tu...

Ok, I'm sold.
Anyone using the X4d? Is it worth the extra 150.00? The bluetooth feature isn't enough by itself to warrant the extra money to me. Any other reasons to go with X4d over the X4?

Re: Trolling without a FISHAWK is called Boating

You guys are killing me. I have a 500.00 gift certificate from Bass Pro I received as a bonus from work. Been going back and forth on getting a Fishawk or upgrading and adding to the rods/reels I have as well as the other incidentals we need. Pretty much decided that I've made it this far without th...

Re: Where to see Tracker Grizzly/Lowe Roughneck boats??

Find yourself an older Whaler. A 13 might be big enough for your needs. A 17 will allow you to fish most anywhere, anytime. Both are extremely stable and make excellent platforms for fly casting. Both can get in the skinny water no problem. The 17 will get you home in just about any conditions Champ...

Re: Salmon advice IS north

I caught my first ever Salmon off the rocks at Kilcare, mid-April 1982. I know at least one LCI winning salmon has been caught a stones throw from Ball I. With suitable water temps we've caught salmon from a hundred yards off the bay dock and out. I heard smelt were being caught in the bay this wint...

Re: Information seeking on Fish Hawk X4d and Kicker Motor

I have a 5hp Honda on my 17' commercial hull Whaler which pushes it no problem. Its also been used quite a bit on a 21" Lund Sportfisherman and performed well in al conditions. One consideration is the vibration of a single cylinder over a larger twin. The single cylinder Honda shakes a lot in ...
