Re: Freshwater Drum?

Thanks, and yes, I had seen that video. About 20 years ago, when I was a bass fisherman, I remember catching one on a small tube. At the time, I had no clue what it was but then saw more in the water swimming around. Did a dive later that week and saw them all. Had to look them up when I got home. N...

Re: Planner mast

I have made quite a few out of everything from aluminum to PVC pipe. It really depends on your boards and how much pull. The more pull, the more the more parallel they will consistently run with the boat with a tight line to use. It's also easier to deal with the lines when they are mid ship or up t...

Freshwater Drum?

Heading up later this week to fish the inland sea. Will be targeting salmon but hopeful to play with other fishes including freshwater drum. I have caught them incidentally but never targeted them. For this time of year any suggested type of location, food sources, movements, etc? In the past while ...

Debris in water?

Heading up later this week and trying to decide if I am going to bring my planer boards.

Lots of debris with this high water?

I suspect it but remember a few years back it was so bad we spent 1/2 of the time just snagging junk and dodging mini islands of floating debris.

High Water

We usually go up to Converse bay every year and beach our boats where we stay. Sounds like the water is quite high right now. Trip supposed to be next week.

Question: how much will the water level drop by next Thursday? Assuming no more rain of course...

Hi, can anyone give me a water level & clarity report for mid-lake near Converse bay? Heard it is high but would like to confirm as well as gauge how high. Thanks.

Re: Inland Sea in mid June?

Ah, right. I was fishing there with my bass boat many years ago and wanted to go through. I remember a much more daring friend telling we we could not get through. That was late August I think.

Re: Inland Sea in mid June?

How much clearance is there under the route 2 bridge? I have a center console. No t top but do need some headroom to clear. Findin...

Inland Sea in mid June?

Friends and I will be going up to Champlain in mid June. June 9-12 to be exact. Each year we go up and fish the Comverse Bay Area with great success but want to try something different. Targeting lakers and salmon. I have fished the inland sea before but was back in my bass fishing days 15+ years ag...

Re: Does slow trolling with your big engine hurt it?

Interesting subject... I have had several boats now with and without kicker motors. Currently just use my big Yamaha 4 stroke and a drift sock. It is a smaller sock on a swivel clip positioned directly behind my prop and I have good control all around. My boat is a Grady white though so it has some ...
