Westport to Fishville - 4/02

Scott and I launched out of Westport Tuesday and headed to Whalon's - there was a mildly stiff NNW breeze at the launch. I hugged the west shore going up the lake to mitigate the chop, but as we approached Split Rock the chop increased and made it to SplitRock we immediately put a combing 3-footer o...

Whestport - 3/26

Tuesday morning found me and Scott once again n at the Westport launch. It was cool, but the sun which had just snuck over the horizon promised a warm day and the lake was like a mirror. We slowly motored north rigging new gear - I went retro with a new level wide full of lead-core and changed thing...

Westport - 1/3

Wednesday's mission was to - 1 - catch fish, 2 - fill the smoker, 3 - have fun - Scott and I ticked all tree boxes. Got to Westport under lowering skies and a flurry or two, water was calm, air 33F. Launched and readied rods for a short run to Hunter Bay. Dipsies had Sun Rise Speedi and purple/black...

Port Henry > Westport - 12/26

In short - should have stayed home. My wife gave me my Christmas present the Tuesday before Christmas - the Flu! The gift that gives for a week and that's how long in lingered in the recliner hacking up fur balls and being miserable (more miserable according to her) - missed family Christmas dinner ...

Re: Port Henry - 12/15

Oop's fat fingers posted before I finished So, had a great flurry of lakers - all the larger ones >20" were spawned out. After the initial flurry, thing went dead again - bait and fish were still there, but no bites - kept the SR Speedi on, but switched rod #2 to CI Blue Moon, Wonmderbread and ...

Port Henry - 12/15

DId a solo out of Port Henry yesterday - couldn't have been a nicer day, 38F, calm and sunny at the ramp, water temp 43F. I was going to go up to fish NW Bay where we caught fish the last two times out, but I like Fishville and felt lucky. So it was PH to start. Leisurely launch enjoying things, ran...

Westport - 12/2

After 3 aborted attempts, Scott and I finally got on the lake Saturday. When we rolled into Westport, it was 40F, overcast and lake was almost flat. Launched and ran up to Hunter Bay - went lines down, Sun Rise Speedi and black/purple HB on dipsies, CI Blue Moon and Patty's Day on riggers. Didn't ev...
