Re: March madness on the salmon grounds

Outstanding catch! Looks like a great day. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Quite the lamprey hit on that one fish.
New boat looks awesome, Jeremy!

Re: 2022 DYP winners… The Country Angler crew..

Congratulations to the Country Angler crew. Outstanding job guys! Thanks to Jeff for making it happen. And thanks to Dean and Matt for a delicious feed at the launch afterward! As always it was great to meet forum members in person. Especially my host for the day, Eric. We went 14 for 17 with 13 lak...

Re: R.i.p. Kevin Collins.(aka Dragnballs)

Such sad news. Kevin, Pat (4C’s), and I fished Shoot Out #2 together. I’ll always remember the hurt we put on the salmon and Browns trolling the green bling that day. A lot about fishing has to do with great people we meet and spend time with along the way. Kevin was one of those. My heart goes out ...

Re: Bass

If you go out of Shelburne, One of the top finishers in the Bassmasters tournament spent a lot of time off Shelburne point and caught them pretty good. Senko, Rapalas, and drop shot rigs should work well in that area.

Re: Bass

Watch the highlights from this weekend’s Bassmaster tournament and you should be able to pick up on tactics to use.

Re: Reels?

I have Abu Garcia 5500 line counters on my down rigger rods (2). The have stood up well with minimal maintenance for 10 seasons, no issues. The only downside is the drag. It works fine, but is only 8lbs of force. Which is fine for salmon, but a 10lb laker will take some finesse. For flatlining I’ve ...

Re: Ulterra with i-pilot link

I like the idea of using the bow mount trolling motor as autopilot for trolling. Is worth upgrading to the Ulterra or Ultrex if you don’t really need the built in sonar? Or would the Terrova be fine? It is a lot less expensive. Is anyone using it?
