Sandbar done for the season
Tried to cross the bar from IS to outer Malletts bay today. No go as the water depth is knee deep at best . 21 ft Grady wanted nothing to do with it . Maybe with no fuel and everyone walking we would have made it but if it got windy all bets were off . We need someone with a backhoe to do some work ...

Thursday trip to the humps
Got a late start, real late … w my bride and Maggie. Launched at cow banks and went thru the sandbar. Depth in the shallows about 30 inches . If we don’t get some rain soon this route is gonna be out. Decided to fish some old haunts so we went to the humps. Water temps mid 50 at 45 ft. First pass ju...

Re: OMG ITS GONE
Tx for admitting to the dumb stuff we endure…. And continue to experience . Just yesterday I noticed one of my rigger cables was half worn thru. 8 inches above the ball . Just reading your post made me check just one more time. You saved me 30 bucks and maybe more!

Cape cod stripers
Had a two day trip just concluded to the cape. Four of us fished out of Ryder cove Pleasant Bay Chatham. Fished w Bob and son Tim aboard their 26 ft Grady CC. Which we moored for the summer down there. The plan was to catch a bunch of mackerel for bait and live live the rip lines at The world famous...

Re: Afternoon Report 6/15
Ditto for me as well. Late morning start wit a lite northerly. Setup at the palisades and headed south to Barber pt lighthouse . Nothing but lakers up to 9 lbs. Any bait was way deep any fishing traffic seemed to be on the long troll so nobody was doing much. Reset later at Swifts with same results ...

Re: Converse
I’m thinking your on the low side rpm wise. Get up another 50-100 . You might need a trolling bag to run in the 2.2 -2.4 sweet spot.

Re: Converse
Could be your RPMs a touch too low when at your lowest trolling speed. Had similar problems w Evinrude etec a bump of 25 rpm smoothed things out.

Re: North end foray May 9th
Don’t feel bad about your day We went thru the gut and fished north almost to town reef without a single release. Lake was so flat that you felt motionless if you didn’t look at your stern wake. Beautiful day on the water though. Fishin great. Catchin not so dood

Re: Value/use of outriggers?
I use outriggers when there’s just two on the boat. They work well when walleye fishing especially at nite. Easy to set up and use.

Re: New Vessel!
Pay particular attention to the drain ports there was a time when they used hardware that couldn’t handle the UV. Inspect from the exterior for stress cracking . The plastic will shatter when stressed at the hose . Replace with hardware made of Marelon a super tough plastic or stainless thru hull ha...
