Re: Outter bay warm water cold water mixed bag
Great reports to read in this thread, thanks for that guys. My son and I fished the IS on Thursday with nothing to write home about. We were both glad to get on the water. With him at UVM the last few years, we just aren't getting out as much. Water was still 54-56deg on the surface when we left aro...

Amazing color on that pickerel. Beautiful. Thanks for the report. I'm getting close to my shakedown. ...I hope.

Re: Saturday in the northern fleet
I already had an ipad mini but not one with a cell/gps ability. I purchased this several years ago and it works great, via Bluetooth, to provide ipad with gps ability. I keep both the puck and the ipad plugged into power. Works well. https://www.amazon.com/Dual-Electronics-XGPS150A-Multipurpose-Augm...

Thanks for the report. Jonesing to get out myself.
What was up with the mouth on that salmon? Damage that had been already done but healed?

Re: VT Fish & Game Report-Cup half Empty
I consider Memphremagog my "home" lake. I wish it was easier to fish the whole lake too, but I've found my peace. I get to fish cold-water until sometime in June(and again starting in September) when they go north of the border and then switch to Pike, Walleye and Bass or just travel to Wi...

Re: Anyone using these on their bunk trailers?
I thought I heard some issue between PT and aluminum and someone said to use cedar. Although these aren't touching the boat most of the time. John PT lumber can cause corrosion of aluminum. PT seems like a good solution for a rotten transom since it can survive water, but an aluminum transom won't ...

Re: Anyone using these on their bunk trailers?
I use a similar product(can't find a link). I'd recommend them. We don't power load so it's nice to have something slicker than carpeted bunks when cranking in the boat the last few feet when that's needed. Hasn't yet happened to us, but be wary of the boat slipping off of these prematurely as you b...

Re: Champ recorded on graph in Keelers Bay!!!!
Could the pic of Champ be some good sized suspended fish that wasn't boat shy? It might have been moving along with the boat and slowly swimming towards bottom as you were over it. ...but it's more likely it was Champ IMO

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
Great Job Very much enjoyed reading the build.... great pictures too. That 22Starcraft hull will take some really rough water with ease good luck with her! Glad you enjoyed it. Even if I don't catch enough fish to contribute to the Fishing Reports much, I can at least contribute to Rebuild Reports....

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
Thanks Everyone. Glad you enjoyed the read. I certainly enjoyed the rebuild and glad to have it documented somewhere now. Getting her ready for my shakedown. If not this weekend, hopefully next.

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
May 19th, 2021 Finally got my schedule and the kids schedules to line up with the weather schedule. We had a great day on the water. Our personal smallest salmon was caught (and successfully released) that day on our shakedown. Can't believe how tough it thought it was to go after that spoon! Thanks...

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
May 14th, 2021 By the next day, this is where we were: https://i.postimg.cc/MHysPdq2/IMG-6427.jpg Had to let the paint on the engine fully cure and harden. Outfitted the boat with all of the gear from the 18' Starcraft SuperSport that I was prepping to sell(to pay for this project). The powerhead s...

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
May 13th, 2021 Got quite a bit of work done in the past week. Sealed and installed access ports in floor, installed and ran wiring to console. Installed new-to-me Taco T-top. Painted powerhead and lower unit what I think was their original color. An upgrade from the olive drab when I got everything...

Re: 1986 Starcraft Mariner 220V rebuild
May 7th, 2021 Painted the floor today. Put on a coat of paint and then scattered on some coarse sand. Two coats after that dried gave a nice no-slip finish. https://i.postimg.cc/TY9HMNMC/IMG-6410.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/BbJcms6s/IMG-6411.jpg Turned out pretty good but I would use less coarse sand ...
