Re: Kayak fishing Champlain

Pulling a salmon into a kayak can't be beat. My kayak is paddle powered so I just run one line. I tried using lite bites to start but found them dragging/ pulling too much. With pedals your probably all set. I started using mini discs and jet divers for action 20' to surface. For deeper depths I run...

Re: Thanksgiving Morning, inland Sea

There sure are some pigs!!! 11/27 Halfway up to cedar down 50-60' over 100 fow, I had a HEAVY hit. My drag was set to strong because of the windy shootout conditions and before I could back it off, three strong pulls and the leader snapped. The first time in three years, since I switched from 8lb -1...

Re: White & yellow perch, silver bass, sheepshead

White perch eat every color - but not every size. I would run larger spoons/hooks to cut back on perch. Even when you do hook up, it's normally a larger fish that you notice.

IS 5/29

4th trip on the pond, first up north. Strikes every trip with no one home. But finally skunk over! Launched from apple into a stiff wind towards savage. Nothing on radar, nothing on the line - typical IS routine. Rounding savage, I lifted lines to 16' and get a hit in 20-30' fow - could be anything,...
