Re: Frostbite Shootout 2021 Report
A big thank you to all who helped put on another event. You guys did a great job as usual. Captain Kirk and I (Ancient Mariner) had a really fun day. It's an annual event that we look forward to each year. Nice to meet so many fun people and enjoy the BBQ. Thanks again and look forward to next year.

Try Bob's Boat Repair in Grand Isle. 802 372-5437 They have all sorts of parts for new and old engines. I've used them in the past. A good source for all kinds of stuff.

Re: Kids Derby in 2022?
I would love to participate. I can take one other adult and 2 kids. I'm also a chief instructor with the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Lets Go Fishing program. Let me see if I can get some handouts from that program. We can also set up a kids workshop on fishing.

If you have too many boats put me on standby. If you have a last minute entry without a boat they can go with me.

I checked Shelburne bay access today. It's still locked in but the river has started to flow and the ice looks soft. Open water is still out past Allen point.

This sounds like a great idea ! I'll have my boat in by April and I've had both my shots so I'll be ready to go. I've got lots of room for a fishing partner on my boat. I'll be looking forward to this fun event.

Fall Weather
An old Ancient Mariner saying : The best fishing weather is always the day after you winterize the boat. So all y0u fishermen out there the next few days, your welcome. I winterized my boat yesterday. Have fun, stay safe, tight lines. See you on the ice or in the early spring.

Re: Trolling bags
I have an 18 foot Sea Nymph with a 60 hp and I run 1 48" trolling bag on the port side and it gets me down to 1.5 easily. I also use an auto pilot for control. I mostly run a bag when running with the wind.

Re: Fleas!
I launched out of Converse at 5:30 am and headed south fished from south of Otter Creek to Button Bay. No fish just lines filled with fleas. They were so thick I had to cut the line to remove them. It was faster to cut and retie than to try to pick them off. I was using 20# mono. They were also atta...

This sounds like a great idea. I will pass this on to the trustees at the Eagles club in south Burlington. They have the perfect venue for this. Their banquet room can hold 100 people has it's own bar and a full kitchen. If interested e-mail me tkarlh44@gmail.com. Let's do this.
