Football Season is Here

Post by popster »

All I can say is I've fished a very long time on Lake Champlain and never before caught anything as beautiful as the Brown Trout that came to the net yesterday.
At 9.4 lbs, 25.5", 18.5" Girth, this fish rewrites the meaning of "Football".
Fish of a lifetime for me. Hats off to the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Dept and the successful Salmonoid Restoration and stocking program that made this catch possible.
The boys at Ray's Seafoods were kind enough to stay open and weigh the fish.
The fish hit a Speedy Shiner Chartreuse/Silver spoon behind a 7 oz Slide Diver Lite Bite. He cleared the water 4 times. What fun

AWESOME!!!!
When I grow up I want to be,
One of those harvesters of the sea.
I think before my days are done,
I want to be a fisherman.

YO Bill, Hard to beat!

A true testament of the possibilities on Lake Champlain when the Lamprey program has some continuance and success. Vermont and New York should see a revenue boost from news like this being posted and making its way around.

LOVE the pic of you like you cannot believe it yourself. :D

Can't wait till fall and being able to get out again. :D Randy
