I always have at least one of my black ghost streamer flies in the water behind a dodger. And they almost always do as well as any spoon or lure I may also put in the water.

When my son and I first started salmon back about 5 years ago we couldnt catch anything for the first couple months on anything other a rainbow speedy shiner. I used to joke that if it wasn't for that spoon that I would have given up and sold my first fishing boat in disgust.

Since I haven't fished cold water species very long, I have to relate to my favorite warm water lure and that would be a Mepps Aglia #4 Red/White blade with bucktail dressed hooks. Hundreds of Bass, Pike and Perch hauled in. I may even try one on a planer board. Homewrecker had luck with a Black Fury, so it's possible.

I have now caught a Salmon on this exact lure. I was fishing for Northerns, but we won't dwell on the small details. 8-)
