I LOVE NEW YORK.... a family outing

Post by popster »

The only disappointment of the weekend was not boating a Brown to complete the slam!

My brother, Tom, and his brother-in-law, Steve, both from southern NY,
joined my Grandson, Dylan & I for 1 1/2 days on the lake. We had a fairly productive
day Sat on the NY shore. Looked for Salmon and settled for many Lakers with a few Salmon
thrown in the mix. The biggest thrill was watching Steve play a beautiful 5 lbs 14 oz
Steelhead to the boat. Dylan was the man with the net & after a couple of frantic
eye-level jumps just out of net reach, he joined us in the POINTER. What fun for the entire crew.
That's what gets us out there again (and again).
The fish hit a Crazy Ivan Purple Demon rigged as a fixed cheater at 27'.
Temp break appeared was in the 25-35' range.
Sunday morning we fished in the Burlington area and hit a few Salmon and Lakers.
1 of the Salmon hit at 17' while setting a stacked rod above. Temp at 17' was in the very high 50's
A great weekend and the boys went home tired & happy

Bill, way to put the crew on them
Great story and beautiful steel.
Glad to see water temps are still reasonable.

I would have loved to see the chrome swimming in your live well Bill!
