Hammerhead Vertical Blades Broke

Post by popster »

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with crimps coming apart on Large Hammerhead Verticals sold by Fish 307? Unfortunately, the upper thimble was all that remained after letting it out over the side. Lost the blades and a 13# weight. How many use or have bought these?

Lost one of these :(

Bill,
That sucks....... I have at least 15 or more sets of those, blades and have never had one come apart. I have had to tape and retape them a few times. The tape they use does not like the deep cold water.
I have to wonder if the company understands that we are running them soooooo deep. Wonder what the torque is on them at 100 ft vs 35 ft... somthing has to give.....

I have had blades come off, but never lost a weight. I have about 10 sets.

I run mine with 8 lb pancakes here with probably quite a lot less stress on them and the equipment. We run 12 lb pancakes in Ontario but no blades.

i currently use the regular round balls and they pull hard at 70+ft where can i go to get weights that don't pull so hard? I use a 12pound on subtroll and 10s on others.

I had some issues with one set I bought recently. I was going through my blades the other day and noticed one of the ends was loose. I brought my FATHEAD blades to the shootout because of this.
