ICY Saturday at Converse

SteelieJoe, Esad and I had plans to
Fish Saturday after Christmas…. It turned out to be a cold start with 1” of fresh snow at my house and 12 deg on way to launch.

Link to short video of launch ice.

We met NHJim and
Dry Net at the launch after trailering
From
NH their boat looked like an ice berg:)

We launched at 730am and set lines in front of garden. I set the port rigger and went to work on the next line and it fired
With a laker on the cheater down 20. Quick start! Over the next 3 hrs we landed fish after fish half salmon and all fighting hard in the 40 deg water.

Riggers, slide divers and 5 color
Lead all did damage. The north wind had whipped up 2-3 footers so we tricked into townfarm bay and spent the better part of the morning working the 50-70 foot areas.

Menu today was Dunkin’ Donuts to start with baked hot pretzels close out with some
Ribeyes and fillets that were very tasty!!

By noon the counter was at 24 and the bite tapered some… best spoons are blue dream and cop car

Bite was 15-40 but most active at 25 down

We continued till 1 and pulled em. By the time we ended we had the counter at 28 and over half were salmon….

Great day on the water and all systems are
Go as long as the ice stays away:)

Thanks for the fun time
Guys!!

Nice to talk to you guys at the launch this morning. That was NOT my boat, I'm way too much of a baby to pull mine this time of year. All credit to NH Jim for braving the tow!!

Sorry I missed the fun, the wife said I’ve been spending too much time on my Mistress so I opted to avoid divorce court and stay on the hard. It sounds like a repeat of last weekend and in typical Reelax fashion you had the eats extraordinaire! Nice showing guys!!

A trolling report after Christmas is like some late arriving gift over here in NH, Matt.
As Barttles and James used to say, "We thank you for your support."
One Question; Does one do anything for and about the outboard motor upon exit in those sub freezing temps?

Hey Jump
The beauty of outboards and frostbiting is all I do is lower the engine after loading out and let the water gravity drain while stowing gear for road travel. That easy!
Happy New Year!

Note to self;

Be sure to raise motor after following Pat's directions.
That first strange noise might otherwise be painful upon inspection
Don't laugh Mssr Wright, it's what you're coming to.
Heh ! But not so funny

Jump I-have-seen-a-lot-of-skeg-marks Parenteau
But so far so good

Keep up the Spirit.

Nice Post and Pictures of some Classic Frostbite Silver!

Surprise is in at Champlain Valley Marine to have a Top Seal Kit installed on my Motor lift & Get A 300 Hr . Evinrude E-Tec motor maintenance go thru.

Mike Paquette bought Champlain Valley Motorsports & renamed Champlain Valley Marine to reflect his Marine repair & Boat storage.

Great Guy and did Surprise 3 years ago when he was a worker bee there. Performed the job for a third less than Chittenden County shops.
And I must add way more friendly and thorough than a Mallets bay shop.

If you need an Evinrude E-tec serviced or repaired give him a call.
