Smart Troll System to track Divers.

My Smart Troll system shipped last night. I ordered a 10" tablet to display my data for $55 on amazon and it arrived yesterday. Will not work on Apple stuff. Android only phones or tablets. Been around 10 years and robust. Since I started a 4 diver program this year for Ontario and removed the two back riggers to give me more room to run my divers it's been win-win. (I don't run Copper / Lead / Weighted Steel.) 13 days on the water in two trips to the western end of Lake O and 80% of our salmon and steelhead have chewed on my 4 diver program. Over 110 salmon and steel for those 13 days! 3 rods a person and a two person boat. Back here on Champlain 2 divers and 2 riggers work very well for 2 licenses on the boat something I prefer. Will have some videos and some updates in the days to come. Running 4 divers with Smart Troll is a game changer!

Nice video on You Tube:

Nice to declutter the gunnels of the boat! :) 45 lbs of weight lost! LOL 9 legal salmon yesterday with 4 Lite Bites in the water. 5-19" / 1-21" / 1-18" / 1-17" / 1-16". The proof is in the pudding.

How far back are you running the divers to get to 65 ft plus where I am seeing 55 degree water ?

Go to setting 1 or 2 for 65 ft. 150 feet back. I would target 62-64 degree water on a 4 setting and 150 or 180 ft. Use a Fishhawk TD to verify.

Finished the install this am. Up and running! Need some water time now. This is an add-on that compliments the Fish Hawk X4-D. It's a diver tracking tool for real time information!

Late morning test out of Malletts Bay launch solo for an hour out in Outer bay. Data from the first photo is two Lite Bites out 150 feet. The second is one at 150 ft and the other at 120 ft. Great test! Game on!

How many feet are you running between the probe and the lure?

5-6 feet of leader 15 lb test. 30 lb test 25 ft to probe and wire. When we run paddles and flies or meat in Ontario I have 2 ft 30 lb leader to stop the Slide diver from sliding into the paddle and the fish at the net. Bob Songin Reel Excitement charters tip! Way better than 10-12 ft leaders on Dipsy Divers. Especially when netting.

I asked Yankee Troller how they pin the probe behind the slide diver instead of like I showed near the leader. He will get back with me next time he is on his boat next weekend and show me how he uses an OR-16 clip from Offshore Tackle to pin it behind the diver. Always a learning curve when trying something new the first time like today. :) Yankee is a weekend fisherman for his charter business.

Yes, I follow both of them. They are a great source for info. Have a hard time watching their updates now as I am unable to get back to the Oak again this year. Torturer!!!
