Converse is open. Bring waders / hip boots. No dock.

Thx for the response Ron - never launched at Converse - usually Port H or Westport where we nose in hop on and back out, no need for waders even when docks are pulled - is Converse that shallow that you have to walk it out?

It gets deep fairly quickly at the ramp. Around it is shallow though. I like to use hip boots to spin the boat around and climb up on my transom ladder (portable not fixed) after launching. Solo launch!

You need waders at converse. I always launch in sneakers and do what you do. However, like Ron says, the ramp is fine, it's all around it that is the potential problem.

I was in the water in waders both on the way out, and the way back in on saturday. I launched the boat in regular shoes, but had to change into waders and jump off once we got stuck. That would end your day right there if you didn't have waders.

20 inches is probably about right. Less in some places for sure, and it's not very predictable. But, I got my 20' trophy 2002 W/A out on the water on Saturday.

Westport is open without docks, bring waders - but beware! The dredging operation dug the slop out of the launching area but that’s about it, and they removed nothing from either side. They basically carved out a nice bathtub out to about 30 yards from the end of the bulkhead but with the water still being low you’ll be rototilling your way through the channel until your about 150 yards out. A good stretch of the channel was never touched and is currently only 2 feet deep. The workers told me the Army Corps of Engineers only allowed them to do this much. Go figure.
