Lake "O" 2012 April Brown
Just back from the taxidermist, 30 inches/16 pounds. Last spring was one of our best quality fish trips. We are all set to get back in to it April 18th! Good luck to all who venture out there this year and be safe.
See you on the pond!

Reelax,
R Seils out of Salt Point, NY did the work via Fish 307. This is the 3rd fish I have seen of his and all were very nice.

Hello Sylvain,
I am an amateur at best but I will offer you my humble opinion. We normally start our season out there in mid April out of Fairhaven. There are campsites, marinas and plenty of other lodging options available.
- Troll close to shore at about 2.2 MPH (boards almost on the beach close) with a planer board spread and flat lines down the chute.
- Look for the warmest water you can find and if there is a mud line to weave in and out of that is ideal. Creek mouths are a likely spot. Even 1 degree can be huge.
- Be flexible. Last year we had to steadily creep out until we found fish in 50 feet of water, including some nice Kings.
- Your standard size spoons and stick baits all produce. Be prepared to lose some when in close.
- VHF, chartplotter and PFD's very important. The water can be very low in the spring and car sized boulders abound. Fog and storms can appear out of nowhere it seems.
- Lots of good places to fish out of from Henderson Harbor to the Bar out West. Good luck if you make it out there and I wager you will return!

Hey Jusfishin,
That is a Fairhaven fish. The weather was awful for that trip but the fishing was fantastic. Hope to see you out there!
