It was on 8 Colors of Lead Core , with a 50-60 foot mono leader before the 8 foot Floro Leader, so for the first little bit she fought like a lake trout and we were all thinking slimmer until she got into a wave at about 50 feet behind the boat and Reelax yells that its silver. Heart rate goes up, and the fish proceeded to dive behind the boat and stay down digging hard, she made a few runs at the back of the boat but we were able to keep her close, as we didn't bring in any gear, we still had 2 riggers 2 divers and 3 other lines on the boards out at the time, again, we thought laker so we were not worried about pulling gear until it was too late. we kept her right behind the boat, and Reelax was able to get the net under her and she came into the boat. Fish of a life time for sure, and couldn't have done it without a team effort. Great driving, netting, filming, and rod work. it took all 4 of us to get her in.

May I ask the cost? I caught and released one that size (29x18) here this past spring and looking at having a replica done. Prices are all over the place.

Cost is fluid on replicas cause Doug is still perfecting his process. This fish probably didn’t do a good job covering his costs. He noted when I picked up that he couldn’t do again for that price. (Under 500) this is the 2nd salmon replica he has done for me over 9lbs and they both came out amazing. I would prefer the replica over the skin mounts I have. If anyone needs Doug’s number just PM me.. his skin mounts are slightly less expensive.
