Way to go Ron. Forum members or their boats are well represented , as usual, in the Derby.

Nice fish. Congrats Ron and Mike. So nice to see a fish treated with such care and released to fight another day.

Memorable day today! Bite was on just before the Polar Vortex crashed the party later this afternoon. We all know the big fish come out to feed with a south blow and an approaching cold front. Mike and I had a heck of a time getting traction launching out of Converse at 7:30 am. I decided with the choppy seas to store the Lite Bites in the side rod holders and go with a 4 rigger program. Our issue was I put the wrong bent finned weights on the side riggers so they were running into the corner riggers. After an hour of untangling and detangling the weights we ended up in the ozone about 400 plus feet of water with the rigs now running correctly. Turned around being pushed by the big following seas as the 60 ft port corner rigger snapped off on Mike's side and the fight was on! 15 minutes later we put the big Ontario net under the best fish to come aboard for me on this lake in 37 years. Yes...proof lamprey control is working!

Congrats Mike!
