That's a nice fish Wayne...whole lot of ugly ...Congrats

Way to go Wayne. That there is a mighty nice fish. I'd still prefer that brown you caught this spring though!

9/5/2017 and 9/6/2017 fished with wayne up north the last 2 mornings for pan fish and hopefully some eyes and pike. 9/5 wayne missed a big fish and i lost one just before. but that was it for big fish but wayne and i landed some jumbo perch. 9/6/2017 i got there at 6:30 and and wayne arrived at 8:30 am and i hadnt caught a fish with only 1 bite. wayne set up about 25 yards from me and as i was winding in my jig it stopped and fish on a good one. had a nice eye on reached around for the net and when i did it shook loose. ugh! then i started to pick up some big rock bass put them in the pail. i was taking off a rock bass looked over and my sinker rod was bent over ran over give a little tug and it tugged back and broke me off. ugh! went over and told wayne same thing happened to him yesterday but luckily didnt break him off didnt get hooked. about 10 am started picking up some jumbo perch. and also lost a smaller eye. wayne got a few small perch and said it was slow. funny we were both fishing in about 30 fow. then at 11:30 am had a good hit on the jig and fish on i land a 16 inch eye. tossed it back out and line took off fish on and lose another eye. very next cast line takes off again and i land a 13 1/4 inch jumbo perch.quit at noon and wayne stayed havent heard from him yet.
i kept 13 jumbo perch 9 rock bass and the 16 inch eye for dinner. yesterday i kept 10 jumbo perch .

Nice mixed bag of fish Matt. that is a big yellow and a nice eye. You ever tried minnows or crayfish there?

no don thinking about that today my buy some certified shiners and crayfish from my bait man fmb bait .

We were pan fishing saturday did well with the gulp shiners.

9/7/2017 headed back up to fish with wayne for some pan fish action. wayne couldnt get to the water until after 8 am as he had to go to willsboro outdoor world to weigh a bowfin for the lci basin derby. i got on the water ay 6 am still dark and raining. no bites or hits until 7:30 am when i landed a small rock bass. then a few minutes later i land a nice 11 inch perch jigging. then the bites were steady for about 1/2 hour then slowed again. wayne set up on the opposite side of me to some scouting, very slow he said. around 9 am no bites when my right rod started moving slowly picked up the rod and fish on i land a nice 19 inch walleye. tossed it back out and before it hit bottom line took off fish on another walleye only to lose it 10 feet from shore. then i started picking up some nice jumbo perch and had 2 strong hits jigging but missed. at 11 am the rain came down and in buckets so we called it a day. i brought home 9 perch 10 to 13 inches 4 rock bass and the 19 inch walleye. wayne had a few perch not really sure yet as we hurried to the cars. not a great day but the walleye and those jumbo perch are worth fishing for.

nice catch Matt. I hope you get a chance to try some live bait. Like Some 3 inch live minnows.

going to pick them up tommorrow at fmb bait and tackle.

10/19/2017 back to pan fishing and catfishing since the weather is like summer. went over to my relatives camp with very windy conditions and muddy water perfect for bullhead catfish eels and white perch. use 2 rods with sinkers and crawlers. it was non stop action to the point i could only handle 1 rod. i landed 14 catfish probably 15 or 16 bullhead kept 9 and lots of white perch kept just the jumbows and also 2 eels. hope you see this don and traci. all catfish were also released nothing big. 4 hours of fishing with 0 breaks thats a good day.

10/20/2017 went back to camp this morning with different condtions and it showed. water clarity was better and no wind plus the fish fed heavily yesterday . at 8:30 am got a decent run and fish on and a good one . after a couple of runs i land a nice 18 lb catfish. he took a 9 inch white perch i had on. not much biting on the worm riod but little perch and at 9:25 am worm rod was pounding back and forth ran over grabbed it and fish on i land a 10 lb catfish. then at 10:50 am my worm rod doubles over and freezes i ran over grabbed it and fish on after 4 runs i land a 13 lb plus catfish. no whites today and just a few small perch but the 3 cats were worth the day. im an only fishing in 3 to 4 fow so i need wind. also no bullhead today one day can make a difference.
