Good tip, now all we need are more walleyes...wish they would stock more walleye not just in Champlain but in as many lakes as possible that could support them. I could think of a bunch between Albany and the Canadian border. Back in "the day" walleye were the premier fish, yet you could catch enough to make a long trip worth it even if you didn't keep them. Problem was and still is, who wants to release a walleye if it's legal, they taste too good. :shock:

Great tip. To cold to run tip ups and tried this on deep water perch today. Worked fairly well.

Try a 3 - 4 inch hunt about 2 foot from the bottom.

Two things that could improve walleye fishing on Champlain are: open the season around May20th. and implement a slot limit; I know guys will say we don't catch that many and when we catch one we want to keep it!

But since they implement a slot limit here in Quebec the quality in numbers and sizes is really improve.

Naturally if they could put more in lakes that will help for sure.
