mexico bay 9/12-9/13

Post by OUTCAST »

well definitely wasn't the best trip out there. Mexico bay was pretty much non-existant with fish. the hard blow they had a few days ago sucked all the cold water out alot deeper. cought 2 kings and a coho on wednesday, and 1 king on thursday. only counted 6 or 7 boats in the whole bay that we could see while fishing. huge change since the last time out which was 10 days ago. talked to a couple of guys that were in shallow 20-30' and they had cought 1 or 2 on j-plugs. Kings were in the river by the thousands, after getting fish cleaned took a ride to a couple of bridges and you could see hundreds of them all over under the bridges. along with numerous fisherman trying to catch them, and some of them were. so if you want to fish them from shore now is the time go after them. they were using colorfull eggsack imitators with a heavy weight about 20 inches above it on any spincast rod. the fish we did manage to catch came right around 100' of water, around 90' down. on flashers and flies. (mountain dew, white, spindoctors) and hammer green and hammer glo flies.

It can definitely be a game of inches Outcast, the good news is, you were out on the water, and there is no better way to spend a weekend. As frustrating as it can be, great one week, poor the next......Thanks for the report......and trust me, it was better than working......ha...
