Interesting article Andre. I have been following a 6,000 hit thread on LOU asking the same questions. Some good theories. We had our 3rd best Spring over there in the last 13 years of going to the Bar landing 45 Kings in 5 days and others had even better results than us. We fished a weekend the 3rd week of July and had 17 bites and caught 10 kings in 1.5 days of fishing.

The up and down cycle of Ontario is evident in 40 years. Maybe next year will improve for the August / September fishing. I haven't fished this time frame in 13 years due to our annual trip to Michigan to visit relatives and I get to fish on Lake Huron. Maybe we are spoiled with Lake Ontario results from past years. They would love to catch 2-3 kings per outing on Lake Huron and the average King size is 8-10 lbs in August and a teenager raises eyebrows there.

Good story thanks for sharing.

If you have time watch this 1 hr. and 9 minute documentary on west coast farm and wild salmon with the same disease:

Specifically start around the 50 minute mark if your short on time.
