Well my son and I resisted going broad lake for lakers instead we took out the seaark in search of bass. We fished the morning just north of mill river along the Georgia shore side of the lake back to Saint Albans. The lure of the day was Zoom lizards fished real slow. We used a texas rig and just worked them slow boated 13 bass and had a few very nice fish. Two fish came from a perch rapala split back but other than that plastic ruled the day. A great start for our fish fry this summer. All but one were large mouth.
Thanks Phil B

Re: Opening morning of bass
Nice job, Phil. We caught a few nice bass (large and small) this past weekend and totally forgot that bass season had started! Oh, well, they're still out there for someone else to catch. Biggest was a 18.5" smallie in Mallett's Bay.
