Last Few days

Post by philb »

Sunday and Tuesday I fished looking for lakers for the upcoming Rotary Derby.
Some fish were on structure did pretty well from Shelburne Bay south to Sloop boated a few 10 pounders and 1 about 11 1/2 pounds. Favorite lure was Luhr Jensen Diamond King Purple Hooter pulling it 1.8 mph on the bottom some fish 25 feet off the bottom.

Today I fished outside of the fill at outer mallets bay I marked more fish than any other place since Saturday. Water temps were good on surface and 49 degrees at 25 feet down. Fish were constantly on my screen in huge numbers unfortunately never in my boat. We boated just 1 laker in all the marks from Stave Reef to the Colchester Reef. The fish were piled on the screen from the bottom to the surface between Stave and the old railroad bed in 70-90 feet of water almost all the way to Sunset. We moved across the lake and boated 3 small lakers over in front of Valcour.

To everyone fishing the Derby good luck hope this info helps someone.

Thanks Phil B
