Keelers Sunday

[Reelax]

Hit Keelers bay with Cardinal and Laurentide (bottomdollar) out of Apple Island Sunday morning...
Water temps in the bay were 45-47 deg! Water was slightly stained brown. We setup and had the 1st silver on within 15 min on 2 colors of lead... Perch Flashking did the trick....

We fished riggers down 8-14, lead out on boards 2-4 colors and slide divers 80 back 12 down... Everything fired.... Seemed like the best action came off the slide divers... We had one silver on a small stick bait, but rest were all on spoons...

Travis pickup our 1st brown of the year as we passed by the sandbar bridge causeway at 40fow toward the east. Water temps in this area was 41-42ish....

We also picked up multiple salmon between the causeway to Eagle mtn. Seems the salmon are spread all over, good sign for spring...

Best dept seemed o be 20-35fow fishing 10-15 feet down for us...

We ended things a little after noon, going 5 for 6 dropping a really nice pig at the net mid day...

Glad to see the bite seems better as the water warms, also good to see a 6lb+ fish, just not quite in the net...

I don't think so right now, the lake is over 100' (flood stage).

Pretty similar experience in Keeler/sandbar/Georgia shore Wednesday evening with @danruss. Had hits on all presentations (spoons 10-12') long-lined shallow stickbaits, however not as efficient as Reelax (2 for 5). We also found them to be scattered at varying depths. Alewifes were everywhere, and happened upon the biggest school of baitfish seen to date on Lake Champlain. Didn't suck that it was 80, calm, and fish were biting!

C-Hawk made it under the bridge with his 9ft pole standing up with room to spare (I think he told me 4 inches. So it would be close.....

Was on keelers before sun up today. Picked up my first two of the year, 18" salmon on 1/4 oz mooselook Emerald Shiner/CopperClick. One off a board with 30' of line from the release. One on a rigger 12' down both over 25 FOW. GOt Off the water by 9. Lots of dead and dying alewives

Thanks Matt, good to meet you too. The drone work is all Dan, I just try not to fall on my face when he's got that thing flying. I'm sure he'd be game to get you some footage of your rig next time we see you guys out there.

On aside, anyone seeing any size north of sandbar (besides that 6lber)? Have had a great year numbers-wise, but they've all been shakers and nothing larger than 3lbs. Starting to second guess presentation, but also hard to put something down that's working. Just curious if others are having similar results.
